Our History

A legacy of specialized expertise, unified as Evantic

What began as a single PTFE innovator has grown through decades of innovation and strategic acquisitions into the unified family of specialized polymer companies known today as Evantic.

Foundations of Expertise
(1959-1989)

1959

Porter Process is founded in Hatfield, PA, focused on PTFE etching.

1960

Plastomer Products is founded, specializing in tape and thread seal.

1979

Amicon is founded, adding molded shapes and machined components expertise.

1985

Texolon is founded, building strength in gaskets, skived billets, and molded sheets.

1989

PFI is founded in Houston, TX.

Expanding Capabilities
(1990-2015)

1997

PFI adds 5-axis machining.

2006

Plastomer Technologies is formed and relocates to Houston.

2009

Cadmium-free PTFE tapes are developed.

2013

PFI expands to 53,000 sq. ft. of production space.

2015

Cellular manufacturing begins for composite and specialty materials.

Strategic Integration
(2016-2021)

DB+

2018

The R&D / New Product Development Team is established.

2021

The polymer components business of Enpro Industries, Inc. is acquired and renamed Altamira Material Solutions (AMS).

2021

Precision Fluorocarbon, LLC (PFI), a manufacturer of highly engineered, mission-critical PTFE components, is acquired.

The Evantic Era
(2022-Present)

2022

Evantic brand is established, unifying AMS and PFI under one integrated identity.

Vertec Polymers, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of highly engineered PEEK, PPS, PTFE, PFA, and other advanced polymeric materials, is acquired.

Additional 5-axis machining capability acquired at both AMS and PFI.

2023

Plastic Distributors and Fabricators, LLC (PDF), a manufacturer and fabricator of high-precision, difficult-to-machine plastic components, is acquired.

2024

A purpose-built development lab becomes fully operational at the AMS Houston facility.

Vertec Polymers, Inc. fully relocates and consolidates operations into the AMS Houston facility.

2025

New vapor polishing techniques are developed at PDF.

2026

Amilon™ compression-molded PTFE XL Rods produced in longer 48″ lengths, helping OEMs achieve greater dimensional stability and tighter tolerances.
