In-House Molding Capabilities

Compression Molding

Evantic consistently molds large plastic parts with superior physical properties while maintaining cost efficiency and reduced material weight. Our compression molding platform supports serial production of both near-net shape and finished components across high-performance engineered polymers, including PTFE and PEEK.

With a broad press range from 25 to 3,000 tons and advanced process control, we produce components ranging from small precision parts to large-format industrial geometries. Evantic offers both cold compression molding and high-temperature compression molding (HTCM). Powder-based processes are used for materials such as PTFE, while HTCM supports engineered thermoplastics requiring elevated processing temperatures. With uniform mold temperature capability up to 752°F (400°C), Evantic is equipped to meet the thermal demands of high-temperature applications.

PTFE Cold Compression Molding (with Free Sintering)

Cold compression molding is used to process PTFE into high-performance components through powder compaction and sintering. PTFE powder is formed into a preform under controlled pressure, then sintered to develop its final density, mechanical strength, and dimensional stability.

This process produces void-free components with excellent uniformity and surface quality. Because PTFE does not exhibit melt flow behavior, compression molding provides precise control over part formation prior to sintering.

Our cold compression molding outperforms extrusion for complex shapes, making it especially well-suited for PTFE components requiring precise geometry and dimensional stability.

High-Temperature Compression Molding (PEEK & Engineered Polymers)

Evantic’s high-temperature compression molding capability supports advanced thermoplastics such as PEEK and modified PTFE formulations requiring elevated processing conditions.

This process leverages uniform mold control up to 752°F (400°C) to enhance material consolidation during forming, improving structural integrity, density distribution, and consistency in finished components. It is well suited for serial production of engineered plastic parts requiring tight process control and repeatable performance.

Thermoforming

(Vacuum Forming, Pressure Forming, Drape Forming)

Evantic’s thermoforming capabilities encompass advanced vacuum, pressure, and drape forming techniques.

With vacuum forming, our skilled technicians use powerful vacuums to shape heated plastic sheets over detailed molds, creating precise and intricate parts.

Our pressure forming process goes a step further, using compressed air to achieve even greater detail and definition for critical applications. Complex, contoured shapes can be achieved with drape forming, which involves draping heated plastic sheets over custom molds.

These diverse thermoforming methods allow us to deliver tailored solutions for our customers. We will work closely with your engineering team to address technically challenging thin-gauge and heavy-gauge requirements and ensure all fit, form, and function product design goals are met.

Isostatic Molding

Evantic’s isostatic molding capabilities enable the production of high-quality near-net-shape PTFE blanks with precise, uniform contours for complex components.

This process applies controlled, uniform pressure from all directions to achieve optimal material compaction. The result is consistent density throughout the part, along with superior tensile, compressive, and dielectric strength. Isostatic molding also produces a low-porosity, defect-resistant surface structure that supports high-performance applications requiring maximum material integrity.

Our isostatic molding capabilities support the efficient manufacturing of molded parts, linings, and seals with reduced material waste and minimized post-processing requirements. The process also helps reduce shrinkage during sintering and improves dimensional stability in finished components.
